Can I try alfii for free? 

Sure, you can take alfii for a spin! You can use the platform for free for up to 1 year, as long as you don’t onboard more than 25 employees. All you need to do is simply sign up and start using it. With the free plan, you’ll get access to the full platform features—only direct payroll payments are excluded.

When your 12-month period is over, or if you’d like to add more than 25 employees, you’ll be required to add a payment method to upgrade to a paid plan in order to keep using the platform.

If you’ve got more than 25 employees on your team but you’re not sure about making a commitment just yet, no worries! Just reach out to us and we’ll work out a trial period that works for you.

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?

Nope! As long as you don’t add more than 25 employees, you can use alfii for up to 1 year without entering any payment details. If you like what you see—and we think you will—then it’s easy to migrate to a paid account once the trial ends. 

When your trial period ends, or when your account exceeds 25 employees, you’ll be notified to add a payment method to continue using the platform.

What are my subscription options?

We offer a startup and SME-friendly pricing model that’s based on the number of active employees in your organization. What this means is that you get charged AED10 per employee per month. However, if you’d like to make salary payments to your employees through the platform, this will cost you a little more.

These extra payroll processing charges are AED 10 per unbanked employee per transaction, and AED 5 per banked employee.

If your company has 25 employees or less and you’re on our Startup plan, you’ll still be charged for the payroll processing fees, as they are an optional add-on to our platform subscription.

What are my payment options?

Alfii uses Stripe as a payment partner, and most commonly used credit and debit cards are accepted as payment methods. Invoices are generated by Stripe and made available to you through your alfii portal. You will also receive a copy of every invoice by e-mail.

Note that we’re working on introducing other payment options in the near future.

How can I take advantage of the early low pricing?

Our subscription plans are currently priced as low as possible to make alfii more affordable and accessible for growing businesses. As we build more features and functionality into the platform, we plan to adjust our prices in accordance with the expanded offering. To show our early customers how much we appreciate the support, we’re happy to lock in the low subscription rates for a full year—meaning no price increases will apply even when you’re getting more out of the product! How’s that for a win-win partnership?

How does the billing cycle work?

Alfii subscriptions are monthly and prepaid. This means that each payment gives you access for the month ahead of you. For example, if you pay your per-employee subscription fee on January 1st, you’ll have access to the platform until January 31st. Then, on February 1st, you’ll be charged for the month of February until March 1st, and so on.

What happens to my account information once the free trial ends?

All of your data will still be accessible on the platform; however, it’ll be in view-only mode. Once the subscription is reactivated, all of the account details, data and settings will be restored.

Do you offer other currencies?

We currently only offer UAE Dirham (AED), but we definitely plan to roll out other currencies in the future.

Do I have to pay taxes?

For now, we do not charge taxes.

What if I add new employees in the middle of a billing cycle?

There is no pro-rated charge for employees that were added in the middle of the month. For example, if you paid for your bill on January 1st but a new employee was added on January 15th, that employee will be included in the headcount for the February 1st bill, and so on…

The number of employees that will be used to calculate the charge is the amount of employees in the organization at the moment of charging. This means that if you’re charged on January 1st, the number of employees you have on January 1st is what we’ll multiply with the price to calculate the charge.

How do payroll processing fees work?

Our payroll processing fees are AED 10 per unbanked employee per payroll cycle, and AED 5 per banked employee per payroll cycle.

When payroll payments are being submitted, we will apply a temporary authorization hold, which will appear as a pending charge in your account’s payment method. Then, after the salaries are disbursed and all the transfers are completed, we will charge the payment card for that amount.

Why is there an authorization hold for my payment processing fees?

As a standard e-commerce practice, a temporary authorization hold is implemented to verify that the card used for a transaction has enough funds. This process is also important to prevent any duplicate charges from occurring on your card.
